An Event in Life

We woke up today and had a breakfast of mushrooms -- what is it with the Brits and their motherfucking mushrooms -- tomatoes, eggs, toast, cereal, orange juice, coffee, and grapefruit.

We needed all the damn fuel we could get for our subsequent thirteen kilometer hike around Lake Derwentwater which was staggeringly beautiful (keyword stagger).

self-timer picture. i think the camera was on a rock or a log or something. this was before it started really raining.

We took our time and sloshed and sang our way through the muddy paths and beheld a new stunning mountain or stream or field or part of the lake around every turn.

aw!

she sloshed through this babbling brook and i am surprised she did not catch pneumonia.

At one point I felt like I could only motivate myself by making like a hobbit traveling in Middle Earth on the quest to save it from the wrath of Mordor. Or something. I think I was a little blurry at some points especially when the rain really started coming down.

to me, this was the shire

we loved this planked path through a giant field

But overall it was very invigorating. We saw all kinds of animals.

Spiders!

Cows!

cows!

Sheep!

sheep!

The sheep were actually opening their mouths and bleating at each other, and I had to stop and watch them for a minute because I thought it was so funny. I baaahed right back at them because I couldn't even help myself. They weren't gated or anything. They were just chilling.

We could have reached out and petted the cows at one point, that's how close they were.

hello, cow.

I surely hope that Edinburgh is not this wet or my feet might never deprunify themselves!

It was all very surreal. It was beautiful.

Today was a great day.
